Home zone
No home zone: any student can apply to enrol. If more students apply than there are places, the school decides how places are offered.
Who goes here
Share of the 205 students who identify with each group. Students can name more than one, so these add up to more than 100%.
MELAA: Middle Eastern, Latin American and African.
Stand-downs and suspensions
Cases per 1,000 students in 2025, adjusted for the ages of the school’s students, compared with all New Zealand schools.
Suspensions: fewer than 5 cases in 2025, so no rate is shown.
These measure how a school responds to behaviour, and schools set their own thresholds, so they are not a measure of how students behave.
What ERO found
The Education Review Office’s latest report on the school is a School Report from November 2025. ERO judged the school to be working towards strong success and progress for all learners, with good quality teaching and rich learning opportunities across the curriculum.
A small majority of learners meet or exceed the expected curriculum level in reading and in maths, and less than half in writing. Reading and maths results are not yet equitable across groups, and the school has not yet extended progress for learners already at or above the expected level.
Less than half of students attend regularly, so the school is behind the government’s attendance target, though attendance is improving and chronic absence is falling.
On the positive side, ERO saw strong belonging and pride, many sports and cultural activities, well identified literacy support for students who need it, structured literacy in place with structured maths underway, a curriculum linked to local contexts and iwi, and Tongan language learning for students of Tongan descent.
The agreed priorities are to use assessment information more strongly when tracking and reporting achievement, extend structured literacy and make structured maths part of every classroom, strengthen assessment and moderation, work more closely with whānau and the community to shape the curriculum and the school’s direction, and keep lifting attendance.
