Stand-downs and suspensions
Cases per 1,000 students in 2025, adjusted for the ages of the school’s students, compared with all New Zealand schools.
Suspensions: fewer than 5 cases in 2025, so no rate is shown.
These measure how a school responds to behaviour, and schools set their own thresholds, so they are not a measure of how students behave.
What ERO found
The Education Review Office’s latest report on the school is a School Profile Report from June 2023, written under ERO’s Te Ara Huarau improvement approach. ERO and the school agreed to look at how well building students’ ownership of their own learning lifts outcomes for everyone.
ERO noted that leaders plan deliberately for improvement, school systems and practices are steady and support learning, relationships are respectful and reflect the school’s Catholic character, and staff training lines up with the school’s goals.
The school’s priorities from here are to grow students’ skill in thinking about their own learning using the SOLO approach, help them link new learning to what they already know and to their own culture and language, strengthen cultural connection through a curriculum grounded in Tūranganui-a-Kiwa and the Catholic faith, and use Universal Design for Learning to better meet the full range of student needs.
