What ERO found

The Education Review Office’s latest report on the school is a School Report from July 2026. ERO judged the school to be doing well in 11 of the 14 areas it reviews, including teaching, leadership, curriculum, assessment, support for students with additional needs and governance.

A large majority of students meet or exceed expectations for their year level in reading and writing, and most make expected progress, with faster gains for some who get targeted help.

Three areas were rated as working towards: maths, where a small majority meet expectations; attendance, where a small majority attend regularly though this is improving; and equity, as reading results are even across groups but gaps remain in writing and maths, especially for Māori learners and for boys in writing.

ERO’s recommended next steps are to keep bringing in curriculum, assessment and reporting changes in line with The New Zealand Curriculum, strengthen teaching to close the gaps in writing and maths, weave te reo Māori, tikanga and te ao Māori more consistently through the curriculum, and lift regular attendance and keep it high. ERO said it is confident the school can keep improving.

Enrolling

Students who live in the home zone have the right to enrol. The school’s enrolment page says the board may apply its enrolment scheme at times of high roll growth; under the scheme, out-of-zone places are offered by ballot when there are more applicants than places.

The enrolment page asks families to contact the school first, then visit and meet the principal. Enrolment forms are available from the school office, and new entrants start on set intake dates after a series of school visits.
